Hosted by: Mark Marsolais, Associate Professor of Criminal Justice at Thomas College and Frank Appunn, Professor of Information Technology and Management also at Thomas College
Agenda:
This round table discussion will include professionals in the security industry, and students from Thomas College, Husson College, and the University of Maine at Augusta.
Hour One:
Six to eight security industry experts provide an introduction (e.g., who they are, where they are from, how did they get to their position, what the future looks like with regard to employment and innovations) to the field of security as well as the importance of getting involved with ASIS early in a career.
Hour Two: Break-out sessions with panelists as well as other experts to discuss opportunities in the fields of security (e.g., physical, homeland, private, health, executive, corporate, loss prevention, cyber, international) as well as private investigations and emergency management.
Hour Three: Individual conferences between soon-to-be graduates and potential employers.

The ASIS Maine Chapter is always looking for future leadership. In addition to networking opportunities a leadership position offers and the points you earn toward certifications, it is also a great way to give back to the community and the industry that supports all of us.

Founded in 1955 ASIS International, with more than 35,000 members, is the largest organization for professionals responsible for security.  The vision of ASIS International is "ASIS International will be the foremost organization advancing security worldwide".  To achieve this vision ASIS International will promote excellence in and recognition of the security profession.

ASIS International is the preeminent international organization for professionals responsible for security, including managers and directors of security.  In addition, corporate executives and other management personnel, as well as consultants, architects, attorneys, and federal, state, and local law enforcement are becoming involved with ASIS to better understand the constant changes in security, the issues and solutions.

Founded in 1981 the Maine Chapter of ASIS International is dedicated to carrying out the vision of ASIS International, and serves as a resource for Security Professionals throughout the State of Maine.  The Maine Chapter has approximately 60 members, and holds monthly meetings that are open to both members and nonmembers.

The Maine Chapter now holds five chapter meetings per year, typically on the 3rd Wednesday of the meeting month. See our calendar for a complete schedule.  Our meetings are open to anyone in the Security Industry, or anyone who has an interest in the meeting topic. Email notification of the meetings is distributed to members the week prior to the meeting. If you are a member and have not received meeting notifications, email the Secretary and request your name be added to the distribution list.
