Congratulations!!

The Maine Chapter Website was award "Website of the Year" by ASIS International for Group 2 Chapters.

Bruce Lewis, CPP, Maine Chapter Member,  has been named the 2007 Regional Vice President of the Year by ASIS International.

The Maine Chapter of ASIS International sponsors, in conjunction with ASIS Foundation, academic and educational scholarship for both ASIS members and non-members.  The scholarship is one way we recognize and promote individuals who are interested in the security profession.  

Scholarships are available for undergraduate degree programs, graduate programs, and qualifying professional development programs (to qualify for professional development scholarship, you must be a member of the Maine Chapter).

For questions about the scholarship program, or to apply contact Chance Dodge at (207) 773-3332.  The scholarship submittal deadline is: August 15, 2008.

Academic Scholarship Eligibility:

bullet Open to ASIS members and other students of merit who are interested in the security profession and who have demonstrated a potential to make a contribution to the field of business security.
bullet

Applicant must be either a full-time or part-time student and have completed one year of study at an accredited college, university, or community college.

bullet

Applicant will have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0) scale.

Academic Scholarship Application Process:

bullet Complete the Application Form (Download Here)
bullet Obtain an official copy of your grade transcript
bullet A recommendation letter from a faculty member
bullet An interview with the scholarship committee

Submit your completed application, along with required documentation, to the Maine Chapter's scholarship committee chairman. 

Professional Development Scholarship Eligibility:

bullet Open to any Maine Chapter Member, that has been an active member for at least one (1) year.

bullet Complete the Application Form (Download Here)
bullet Submit a full course description
bullet Submit a letter explaining to the committee how this course will benefit you, both professionally and within your current organization.

Submit your completed application, along with required documentation, to the Maine Chapter's scholarship committee chairman

 

 

Next Meeting

Our next meeting will a joint meeting with the Granite State Chapter.

The meeting will be held on September 3, 2008 at 6pm in the Portsmouth, NH area.

Stay tuned for details on the exact location, and roundtable topic.

Additionally we are looking for members that are willing to help out on the board next year.  Any member interested, please contact Ron Demers.
