February meeting: Domestic Violence/Workplace Violence

Agenda [change]: The general meeting will begin at Noon. An executive meeting of officers (and anyone else interested in the business side of the maine Chapter) will begin at 11:40am. Lunch is planned as a "brown-bag" affair. If any vendor members would be interested in sponsoring a lunch for this or future sessions, please reply to Brad Norris. There will be a Workplace and Domestic Violence presentation by Michael P Harriman, CPP, Security Manager for Southern Maine Medical Center and retired Maine State Police Detective.

Certification Study Group Are you working toward a certification? Would you like to work with other members pursuing the same? If so, please reply to Aarin Miles and include the certification you are pursuing. If enough interest, we'll pull a group together.

Founded in 1955 ASIS International, with more than 35,000 members, is the largest organization for professionals responsible for security.  The vision of ASIS International is "ASIS International will be the foremost organization advancing security worldwide".  To achieve this vision ASIS International will promote excellence in and recognition of the security profession.

ASIS International is the preeminent international organization for professionals responsible for security, including managers and directors of security.  In addition, corporate executives and other management personnel, as well as consultants, architects, attorneys, and federal, state, and local law enforcement are becoming involved with ASIS to better understand the constant changes in security, the issues and solutions.

Founded in 1981 the Maine Chapter of ASIS International is dedicated to carrying out the vision of ASIS International, and serves as a resource for Security Professionals throughout the State of Maine.  The Maine Chapter has approximately 60 members, and holds monthly meetings that are open to both members and nonmembers.

The Maine Chapter typically holds their chapter meetings on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, see our calendar for a complete schedule.  Our meetings are open to anyone in the Security Industry, or anyone that has an interest in the meeting topic for that month. Email notification of the monthly meetings is distributed to members the week prior to the meeting. If you are a member and have not received meeting notifications, email the Secretary and request your name be added to the distribution list.
